SPOKANE, A 57-year-old Chattaroy, Washington man convicted of First-Degree Murder last month was discovered dead in his Spokane County Jail cell early Monday.

Christopher H. Devlin was convicted of aggravated murder in a lengthy Stevens County trial that ended August 18th. On September 15th, he was sentenced to life in prison.
Corrections deputies last saw Devlin up and around shortly before bedtime Sunday night. He was served breakfast around 6:30 a.m. Monday. When did not retrieve his meal, deputies entered the cell to check on him.
They found the deceased inmate face-down on his bunk. There were no evident signs of violence.
Devlin had been isolated in his single-occupant cell since Friday. Cause of his death will depend on autopsy, sheriff’s major crimes detectives said.
