CHRISTIAN VERN WILLIAMS was convicted of Residential Burglary and First Degree Trafficking in Stolen Property after a jury trial ended Wednesday, October 13. The burglary occurred April 12, 2010. He had previously lived in the residence with some folks who had let him stay there. On April 12, he went to that residence at about 7:15 in the morning, was invited in, stayed for 10-15 minutes, and then left when the husband went to work. The wife then got up, took the children to school at about 8 am. When she returned home 5-10 minutes later she found their home had been burglarized. After she informed her husband of what happened, he was heading home, when he saw Christian parked outside the pawn shop. He stopped and found much of his stuff in the vehicle that Christian was driving. Sentencing has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 16th, at 11 AM.
JOSHUA WILLIAMS, brother to Christian, pleaded guilty to 1st Degree ID Theft, on Thursday October 14. This charge arose out of the theft of a credit card from a relative by another person. He and the other person took the credit card and went to Spokane and made approximately $1900 aggregate worth of purchases on these credit cards between the two of them. Both persons were charged with the offense of Identity Theft in the First Degree as accomplices to each other. Josh was sentenced to a prison sentence of 12 months and 1 day. A third brother, Jesse Williams, is currently charged with felony charges on other matters.
On Friday, October 15, Superior Court Judge Nielson overturned two of the convictions of Pamela Deskins of Wallbridge Rd in the south part of the county. A District court jury had previously convicted her on 4 counts related to the animal cruelty case that was the result of her having allowed as many as 39 dogs to terrorize the area and kill and eat each other. The hearing was attended by some of the neighbors who had lived near her during those years. Judge Nielson decided she had not received adequate representation by her attorney, Ronnie Rae. He also found she has served more time than she should have in the county jail, and ordered her released immediately. The state will consider whether or not to appeal his decision.
