Prosecutors Desk 6-23-10

On June 1, Jason Lee Dethloff, DOB 2/9/73, entered a plea to 2 counts of Rape of a Child in the First Degree. He is exposed to a sentencing range from 120 months to life. His sentencing was delayed for the completion of the required Pre-Sentence Investigation and the evaluation for a Sex Offender Sentencing Alternative disposition. The sentencing will be delayed for about 40 days while these evaluations are completed.

On June 15, David William Hutson Jr. entered a plea of guilty to 1 count of Rape of a Child in the Second Degree. He is exposed to a sentence of 78 to 102 months in prison. The sentencing hearing for him is likewise delayed for a few weeks to allow time for evaluations to be completed which will be presented at the sentencing hearing.

Also on June 15, Tamara Lynn Bordelon pled guilty to Possession of Stolen Property. She was charged as a result of her part in a fairly sophisticated theft from Wal-Mart last fall. She was one of three other persons who worked together to accomplish the theft. They would select items and exit without paying at a cash register, but then present a forged receipt to the doorman which appeared to show that they had paid. The loss prevention team was alert to their actions and pursued the suspects immediately. They approached the truck. There were three people in the vehicle which left the parking lot in a hurry. Ultimately, the vehicle was stopped in Addy. A search revealed numerous receipts, indicating the ability to produce receipts. The receipt transaction number used in the present theft had a transaction number for the same time period, but was actually for other merchandize. Ms. Bordelon was the driver. Sentencing will June 29.

It is suspected that these people have used this same scheme in other locations, particularly targeting Wal-Mart stores.
